The Mind-Body and the Spirit-Body Approaches to Wellness:

What’s the Difference?

The Mind-Body and the Spirit-Body approaches are both valid paths to wellness, but both are misunderstood and very different from each other. In order to make clear, learned choices when it comes to your own wellness, take the time you need to fully explore these two options.

The Mind-Body approach tells you that if you think differently you can create wellness, that it is important to tell yourself to focus on positive emotions to break the grip of your suffering, and that if you repeat affirmations dutifully they will change the neural pathways in your brain. These are mind-over-matter techniques. They are about ‘willing’ your way to wellness. Although these techniques can be very effective, they are, in essence, all forms of self brain washing – which can only hold up under unrelenting regiment.

In the Spirit-Body approach, your life experience is studied in a very different way. Your thoughts are respected as your guideposts along the road of your life, and your emotions are honored for the way they define you. The premise is that all of your thoughts and all of your emotions lead you unerringly to what you need to explore to be Truly Well.

Is Creating a Lasting Wellness Mental Work or Spiritual Work?

What you think is littered with beliefs that you may sadly live as Truths. These false beliefs must be acknowledged and reworked in order for real progress to be made in the journey towards wellness. Your mind can deceive you. Clearing your mind of false beliefs is spiritual work done through the Spirit Body approach, not your mind – as is the emphasis of the Mind-Body approach.

When you pursue wellness through mental concepts, you will probably be left struggling to maintain wellness because the root issues affecting wellness are spiritual.

The Spirit-Body approach is exemplified in the principles of True Wellness. Emotions such as depression, anger, guilt and shame are not suppressed in True Wellness studies. They are considered to be Divinely Inspired and recognized as being able to lead you directly to your answers.

This is important: If you suppress your emotions, you alter your biochemistry which can effectively give you some temporary relief, but these changes will be temporary, at best, because the Divine is ever-working to communicate your life lessons to you through your thoughts and emotions, even those labeled “negative.” If you don’t listen to your thoughts and emotions, you will suffer.

The Medical Community Speaks

The medical community claims that 60-90% of all physical complaints are rooted in stress and have no physical cause. Of course, they don’t. They are not physical problems. They are spiritual issues that are not resolved!

What to Do For Resolution

In the Mind-Body approach, you self-talk your way out of stress with affirmations or focused meditations, but you will have to rigidly maintain these disciplines to feel well.

The Spirit-Body approach presumes there is something in the stress that you have not learned that is why it keeps repeating itself.

Resolving spiritual issues that have created the stress is done by listening to what the stress is attempting to tell you and developing a healing response to it. Once the message is received and processed in your life, the stress is gone! not kept at bay or under control – but gone.

If you don’t surrender to your stress and disappear into the Hidden Teachings it camouflages, you will not find true resolution. In fact, if you don’t acknowledge Hidden Teachings, the Divine will up the ante, guaranteed. Do you know why? Since you are never abandoned by the Divine, and ever-Loved, your lessons will be repeated again and again. These repetitions will repeat with greater emphasis and more dire consequences until you self-discover their purpose in your life. This is just the way it is.

Optimism or a positive attitude is promoted by the Mind-Body approach, but it can not hold you up long term. Your mental body can not resist the insistent voice of the Divine speaking to you through your Spirit Body, guiding you towards real and lasting resolution. You can not deny your suffering or pretend it is not with you. It is calling you to self-discover resolution.

Resolution is Wellness

Let’s review this in another way…When you resist the murmurings of your Heart or Soul, you suffer. If you don’t heed the Hidden Teachings, there is a good chance that your lessons will escalate in intensity and frequency. This happens because you are Loved – not because you are unworthy or require punishment. This is a very important base premise to the study of True Wellness.

True Wellness studies treat chronic illness as a gift. Conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease, to name a few, are Divine messengers shouting loudly at the patient to resolve and heal the underlying spiritual issues involved.

You can not talk, emote or behave your way out of these chronic conditions. Although Mind-Body techniques will have a positive affect on well-being, these health problems are far bigger than what you can tackle from the mental level of your Being.

You will have to walk through the belly of the beast or survive the darkest night of the soul to be Truly Well – but that is the point! The very process of the journey will teach you about your own courage and wisdom. Healing takes you beyond what you know into the unknown where you will self-discover the answers that redefine your suffering. The journey will grow your Love for yourself and others. It will teach you Faith and Trust, and the higher Truths in life.

True Wellness is not in what you know or you would never suffer.
It is in what you do not know today.

The True Wellness studies provide you with a unique, innovative Spirit-Body approach to wellness that teaches you how to go into what you do not know. It is a series of gentle, yet cathartic lessons that lead you into the Heart of who you are – where True Wellness is very attainable. It provides you with a program to maintain wellness.

True Wellness studies guides you through the unknown terrain of suffering.

All you have to do is move one foot in front of the other...and Trust.

You have nothing to lose but what you think to be true in this moment -
and that isn't working for you or you'd already feel truly well.
