Mind-Body Approach
(This is the “bottom up” approach. Healing begins with the intention to define the dysfunction clearly.)
........................................................................
1) The intention is to diagnose the problem.
2) The search is for the root of the crisis within the physical or psychological aspects of the self.
3) Community and individual support are offered.
4) Wellness is achieved through set parameters that transcend the diagnosis (i.e. depression to happiness)
5) The work is to journey into the depths of self; to disappear into the ego, which is bound by
dualistic confusion, to find non-duality or the
archetypal xperiences of love, truth and wisdom
6) Self-love and feelings of self-worth are
imperatives to healing. These attributes will be
sourced from the ego-based self.
7) One is asked to trust in self and the system.
8) Labeling, diagnosing, medication, and
mental/emotional/physical support are offered.
9) Person feels calmer, clearer and less fearful.
10) A path of understanding and healing
11) GOAL:
To heal physical, emotional and mental
problems
(Healing physical, emotional or mental
suffering will not necessarily heal the spiritual
crisis.)
Spirit-Body Approach
(This is the “top down” approach. Healing begins with the intention to find the Divine in the dysfunction.)
.................................................................................................
1) The intention is to listen to the voice of the
Divine within the problem.
2) The search is for the root of the Divine within
the spiritual self where the Hidden Teachings lie dormant.
3) Although community may be offered, emphasis
will be on the archetypal lessons related to
developing a belief in self, inner strength, Self-
Love and worthiness.
4) Wellness is achieved through personal
revelation (i.e. depression to deeper
understanding)
5) The work is to journey into the depths of the archetypes of Love, Truth and Wisdom; to
disappear into the Divine and to journey into the depths of self with the knowledge of Love, Truth and Wisdom to heal the human psychology.
6) Self-Love and Self-Worth are sourced from the Divine within. They are then much larger than what the ego-based self can comprehend, and become models for inspiration, Truth and True Wellness.
7) One is asked to Trust in self and the Divine within.
8) Enrichment, acknowledgment, meditation, prayer, and Loving support are offered.
9) Feelings of Hope and Inner Peace begin to grow.
10) A path of personal revelation and healing
11) GOAL:
To heal spiritual crisis and so abate all
suffering.
(Spiritual resolution inevitably heals physical,
emotional and mental suffering.)
